Passionate about story-telling and targeted communication to achieve an outcome, Maya is focused on helping Menlo clients get their message across, working with them on key steps including resume writing and editing, the recommendation process, interviews, and essays. Also involved in project management and coach support, Maya helps guide MBA applicants through the Menlo Coaching service.
What Maya appreciates most about working at Menlo Coaching is the collaborative atmosphere, where all team members pitch in, sharing ideas and perspectives, to get the best result possible for each client.
Before joining Menlo Coaching, Maya worked as a Management Consultant, delivering change implementation workshops globally to large technology and manufacturing companies. Travelling internationally to 40+ countries, Maya coached clients and helped them to build up their communication skills and adopt new ways of working.
At the start of her career, as a Brussels-based lobbyist, Maya helped businesses and foreign governments create messaging and build argumentation towards the European Union Institutions – drafting position papers and tabling amendments to proposed legislation.
Maya completed her B.A. in European Politics and Legislative Studies at the University of Hull in the UK, spending one year as an Assistant to a Member of the European Parliament, Brussels.
Outside of work, Maya is a big fan of vintage crime fiction, having collected every green- and white-covered Penguin paperback book from 1935-1962. Aside from reading, she enjoys the great outdoors, fine dining and most of all, spending time with her young Dutch family.
It was a great experience working with Maya during my MBA admission process. She was a great help through the whole process, but especially around crafting my resume. She took time to learn about my career journey and accomplishments and help me distill what I had done in a way that would be compelling and understandable to an admissions committee. She was also invaluable during my interview season providing me with extra practice when I needed it. I cannot recommend her and the rest of the Menlo team enough!
