The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Online MBA is a fully-online program comprising seven core courses and three business electives. Electives include Marketing Research, International Financial Management, and Advanced Organizational Behavior. In total, the program is 30 credit hours and can be completed in 24 months. Students new to business courses are welcome to take three introductory courses in financial accounting, economic concepts for managers, and statistical analytics. In addition, students have the option to concentrate in the following areas online: Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Organizational Leadership, and Supply Chain Management & Information Systems. There is also an Environmental Policy concentration through the Sustainability Studies Program, Healthcare Management through the College of Nursing, and Public Management through the Department of Public Policy.

Classes occur in both asynchronous and synchronous formats depending on the professor. Most are in a lecture-style, though. Dartmouth primarily uses Blackboard to assign and collect homework and WebEx to meet for synchronous courses. In addition, professors are usually available via phone, email, or video conferencing for office hours or questions.
Many online students work full-time jobs while acquiring an online MBA from Dartmouth. The program is structured around students who have to travel or continue working while attending school.
Students must complete homework assignments, attend lectures, watch videos, read course material, and participate in discussion boards.
