What is the University of Florida Warrington Online MBA Program?

The one-year program consists of 32 total credits, including one experiential learning course. To be admitted into the program, students must have completed certain business courses during their undergraduate career.

The two-year program consists of 48 total credits, again including one experiential learning course. Electives are online, and students can choose between online, on-campus, or Global Immersion Experiences. Online MBA students are put into cohorts of about 50 people, allowing them to create a more intimate space to learn and thrive.

Why choose an online program over an in-person MBA?

There are several advantages to choosing an online MBA program, and it is important to do whatever is best for your life and your schedule. Online programs can be cheaper, since there’s no housing cost added to the tuition, which may be a factor in your decision. If you’re unable to step away from a full-time position, or you’re a stay-at-home parent, then an in-person degree might not be an option for you. In that case, an online program could be the way to go! Online MBAs are just as valid and “worth the money” as in-person programs are. Check out our article here for more information.

Do the full-time and online MBA degrees have a similar curriculum?

Yes! The same faculty that teaches the in-person curriculum also teach in the online program. These classes are specifically designed for online students with techniques developed from new technology. Both options require the same rigorous, hard work from the students to ensure that they are getting the most out of their time at the Warrington College of Business.

Class Format

In the one-year program, all lectures are pre-recorded and asynchronous. The majority of the coursework is also completed online on the student’s schedule; it is mandatory for students to attend an on-campus orientation.

In the two-year program, students can access speakers and regional networking events. Coursework is done online and, often, in groups with other students to foster collaboration. Lectures are recorded and available for students to watch when they are available to sit down and do it. Students should expect about 15 hours of work per week.

Flexibility for Working Professionals

Full-time professionals can work at their current position and still earn their MBA degree. Lectures and coursework are online to be completed on the student’s own time, which allows for a great amount of flexibility in their schedule week to week.

What else does this program require of its students?

Students should expect to complete readings, group projects, and individual assignments. Orientations must be completed in-person before the start of the program.

Career Support

Warrington offers a variety of career services to their students, both online and in-person. Students can participate in career development webinars, remote video interviewing, career assessments, and access to a large pool of alumni.
