Online programs can be cheaper, since there’s no housing cost added to the tuition, which may be a factor in your decision. If you’re unable to step away from a full-time position, or you’re a stay-at-home parent, then an in-person degree might not be an option for you. In that case, an online program could be the way to go! Online MBAs are just as valid and “worth the money” as in-person programs are. Check out our article here for more information.
Yes! The hybrid online courses are taught by the same in-person faculty, so you can expect the same rigor and excellence as the full-time, in-person degree.

Classes are offered both online and on-campus, so students can choose which option they prefer. The amount of required class time on campus depends on which concentration students choose; some majors require an in-person meeting every other month, and another requires students to meet on a one week in-person and two weeks virtual rotating schedule. Classes also require different in-person meeting times.
Students are able to work a full-time job while completing the program; the course structure has been designed with working professionals in mind. With a flexible and rotating schedule, students are able to fit their business education around their professional and personal lives.
As with any program, you must prepare before class and stay up to date with assignments and readings. Students can also opt to participate in a Global Residency Experience, a 7-10 day trip to a foreign city to learn about cultural and business experiences.
JMU offers career fairs and workshops, aid in finding jobs and internships, and online tools such as Handshake and FOCUS. There are also many other career support options for students, such as assistance in resume writing and practice interviews.
