What is the University of Louisville Online MBA?

The University of Louisville Online MBA is a 45-credit hour fully-online program with 36 core courses and nine electives. Some examples of electives are Business in Eastern Europe, Transitions: Military to Citizen, and Artificial Intelligence. The program is cohort-based, so students take nine credit hours over five semesters. All admitted students must take the MBA Statistics Prework Module at no cost to prepare them for the program. In addition, students can customize their degree by earning a certificate in Franchise Management, Distilled Spirits Business, Managerial Analytics, Horse Racing Industry Business, and Family Business Management and Advising. There is also an optional business study trip where students travel to cities like Boston, San Francisco, and New York City. International options include Romania, South Africa, and Taiwan.

Class Format

Online classes at the University of Louisville are highly student-centered. For each 3-credit hour course, plan to spend around 15-25 hours per week preparing, studying, and doing work. Each class will have a page on Blackboard where students can find assignments and announcements. All courses are asynchronous and not self-paced; professors will assign due dates for assignments. Flexibility for Working Professionals

Many online students work full-time jobs while acquiring an online MBA from Louisville. The program is structured around students who have to travel or continue working while attending school. 

What else does this program require of its students?

Students must participate by attending classes and communicating with professors and students. Assignments include textbook and journal readings, video lectures, discussion boards, group projects, PowerPoint presentations, and more.
