The Saunders College of Business Online EMBA is a 17-month, four-semester program with two start dates in August and January. This program is intended for mid- to upper-level professionals who want to attain new leadership roles and opportunities through training and workshops. Students take two intensive courses every six weeks. The Online EMBA program is cohort-based, meaning students begin simultaneously, take the same classes, and collaborate. Classes are focused on debating new ideas, teaming up with other professionals to discuss critical issues, and group projects. Courses include business simulation, managerial accounting, and ethics.
The MBA curriculum delivered by the online program is the same as the in-person program. The differences between the programs include class experience and meetings, which we will discuss in this article.

Classes are formatted as weekly synchronous sessions that are recorded for students who cannot attend. Most classes feature a teaching assistant who hosts additional weekly sessions for those who wish to review materials. Students also complete capstone projects for companies to solve issues and suggest solutions. In addition, faculty members are available after classes via email or phone. All course materials are digitally provided to students and any technology the student requests. On average, around 20 hours per week are required to complete the program.
Many online students work full-time jobs while acquiring an Online EMBA from Saunders. The program is structured around students who have to travel or continue working while attending school.
All students are required to attend a three-day in-person orientation before starting classes. Another required program is the international seminar: a program that allows students to take a professional and cultural trip before graduation. On this trip, students meet with an internationally-based company to help solve a challenge by applying theories and lessons learned in online courses.
The Office of Career Services at Saunders boasts a substantial alumni network to which Online MBAs will have access as they develop in their careers. The Office of Career Services hosts career events and recruitment fairs and offers access to online career resources.
