Before deciding to pursue an MBA, Tony joined the US Navy and completed his undergraduate studies at community college in the evenings. Once he earned enough credits, Tony was able to transfer to University of Texas at Austin. After the Navy, he moved into a role at Dell Technologies, and thanks to his work with Menlo Coaching, he will be attending The Wharton School as an MBA candidate.
Tony’s parents immigrated from Mexico to the United States, eventually settling in Los Angeles, where he was born. Growing up with working parents who did not attend college, navigating the MBA process and all the requirements did not come naturally. Menlo Coaching helped walk him through this process, step-by-step. He was also able to gain experience in mock interviews with other clients, lessons from a professional communications coach, and feedback on completed assignments within the firm’s extensive educational materials.
One standout feature from Tony’s experience with Menlo Coaching was the honesty of the consultants. Tony did not experience any sugarcoating, and the team was always upfront and honest about his application.
Trust the process—that’s what Tony says now. Even though it seemed at first like the amount of material and prep work that would need to go into the MBA application was insurmountable, Tony believes that it was worth all his time and energy—especially with his Wharton acceptance in hand!
