Senior Admissions Consultant / Director

Are you an experienced MBA admissions consultant who wants to move beyond hourly rate work?

We’re rolling out a new model of MBA admissions consulting that uses online courses and group coaching to leverage the time of our experts, provide applicants with the structure they need to succeed, and use the power of peer pressure to keep applicant motivation high. Activity in our pilot groups has been incredible — our most recent group of applicants exchanged 50+ messages in their first week.

Applicants see value in these differentiated services, and our premium pricing allows us to offer higher compensation than traditional arrangements based purely on 1:1 coaching. You can finally be recognized for the expertise that has taken you years to build. It also means you can avoid some of the repetitive aspects of the job. “Yes, you should make campus visits. Let me tell you why…”

Are you a one-person shop, but you’d rather work with clients than run a business? Do you hate selling, marketing, writing contracts, collecting invoices, and the rest?

We invested more than $100k last year to improve our back-end systems, which include a one-click onboarding process for new clients, an operations team that handles tedious-but-necessary tasks like creating applications at 25+ programs to source the essay and recommender questions directly from the schools, and a marketing process that generates far more inquiries than we can serve, giving us the power to select the most compelling applicants from within the pool — accomplished, realistic, and coachable.

Do you believe that applicants need help long before and long after they submit their applications?

How many times have you heard an applicant say in July that “I’m planning to do my campus visits soon?” If you do your visits in the summer, good luck meeting the students! Our Early Birds program helps future year applicants to put themselves in the best place before starting to work on the applications.

How many times have you seen a great applicant struggle once they’re in the thick of the MBA, and find recruiting harder than they expected? We’re investing in building relationships with post-MBA employers and see this as our next major business.

The role

We’re looking for experienced coaches who can handle a joint remit:

You should have a demonstrated track record of success coaching applicants to Top 10 MBA programs and be ready to share testimonials and work samples.

Menlo Coaching is based in The Netherlands and is open to on-site work at our headquarters near Amsterdam (for the right candidate, we will sponsor your work eligibility), or to remote work. Even for remote workers, our interview process includes a visit to our headquarters in Amsterdam.

The company

Menlo Coaching was established in 2012. The quality of our work has resulted in industry awards, including Top 10 rankings for both partners of Menlo Coaching, David and Alice, by Poets & Quants:

The best praise for our services comes directly from our clients:

Alice knows the admission game backwards and forwards. She genuinely cares about your success (not just in getting into a school but also your career) but at the same time, she is upfront and pragmatic about everything.

I’ve worked two different high-finance jobs in my career and consider myself a strong interviewer. I worked with David for less than an hour to prepare for my Booth interview. When I finished my interview, I confidently told David and Alice it was the best interview of my life. I *knew* I would get the Booth offer and this is not from a place of ego but just to speak as to how well David prepared me.
