Truly worth your time and money

I cannot recommend Alice enough. In a massive cottage industry of advisors and tutors, I feel so good about the money and time I spent on Alice. I can point directly to how she added value to my case as a candidate, and I ended up with great results: offers of admission from Chicago Booth, MIT Sloan, Northwestern Kellogg, Duke Fuqua (also waitlisted at Wharton). I also received significant merit fellowships from Booth, Sloan and Fuqua. I contacted Alice after having submitted my applications, and after not receiving an interview to another school to which I applied–I was spooked. My first thought was how I could maximize the interviews I did have, which at that point was the Kellogg interview (given to all applicants). Alice gave me her customary free consultation where she immediately calmed me down, demonstrated that she listened carefully, and was very respectful of my goals and concerns. I noticed how generous Alice was with her time–beyond what was promised–which was frankly how Alice operated throughout our entire time together. Later in our work together, she suggested I didn’t need more sessions with her when I had additional interviews that were similar in format to ones for which we had prepared, saving me a great deal of money. I could tell that Alice invests great time and energy into each of her clients, and really appreciated that she would respond nearly instantly to any question or concern I have, always taking it seriously. This has continued even after our official work together has finished. Beyond giving great client service, Alice’s real value is in her advice. We did a mock interview to prepare for Kellogg (and later for other schools), and she was quickly able to identify how I could be telling my story more powerfully, clearly, and simply. It instantly upped my confidence. She quickly figured out what motivated me–treating interviews a bit like games–and tapped into that motivation in order to keep me calm and focused. She found ways for me to present my goals and experience that made them sound SO much more impressive. She also adjusted my tone in moments so that I sounded smoother and more confident. Her tweaks were far from obvious, and I do not feel I could have identified these areas for improvement on my own (despite being a good interviewer already). Over the course of admissions season, she transitioned into being a sounding board for me about the process, and I’m frankly sad I don’t get to work with her longer and in the future. She has tremendous integrity, and is very honest about every aspect of the admissions process. If you want to be sure you are spending your time and money well on this process, and work with someone who truly adds value, Alice is your person.
